"As a foreigner living in Placencia, you will have access to public healthcare. However, the public healthcare system in Belize is not as advanced as in some other countries. The facilities and services may be limited, especially in rural areas like Placencia. You may find that the quality of care and availability of specialized treatments are not up to the standards you are used to. It is recommended that you also consider obtaining private health insurance to ensure access to better healthcare facilities and services," wrote a member who made the move to Placencia, Belize.
