Moving to Turkmenistan

Additionally, expats should be aware that the country has a very strict visa system, and that obtaining a visa can be a lengthy process. Finally, expats should be aware that the cost of living in Turkmenistan is relatively high, and that it is important to budget accordingly," commented one expat who made the move to Turkmenistan.

"You will visit dozens of homes before finding one. You will rarely find something that you are used to if you are from the west. You will want to run out of some before even reaching the front door," remarked one expat in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
