The island is also known for its luxurious resorts, world-class golf courses, and vibrant nightlife. Additionally, Paradise Island is home to a variety of outdoor activities, such as snorkeling, fishing, and sailing. Before moving to Paradise Island, it is important to be aware of the cost of living, which is higher than in many other Caribbean islands. Additionally, the island is subject to hurricanes and tropical storms, so it is important to be prepared for these events. It is also important to be aware of the local laws and customs, as well as the availability of medical care and other services. Finally, it is important to research the job market and the availability of housing before making the move.

What do I need to know before moving to Paradise Island?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Paradise Island, they said:

"Use these types of forums to ask questions. Use the internet to explore. Google maps was very helpful. Our process was 10 months from first interview, so we had plenty of time to research, neighborhoods, schools and shopping areas. That said, nothing can prepare you for being on the ground. If you can get the chance to do some recon, do it," remarked one expat who made the move to Paradise Island.

"Before moving to Paradise Island, it is important to research the cost of living and the availability of accommodation, services and transportation. You should also familiarize yourself with local laws and customs, and obtain necessary permits or visas if required. Additionally, it is essential to plan for any medical needs and consider what healthcare insurance might be required. With Paradise Island being a tropical destination, you may also need to prepare for strong sun and to be aware of risks such as hurricanes, potential flooding and the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses such as Zika, dengue fever and malaria. Being aware of the local culture and language are also recommended. Finally, researching the local job market can help you be better prepared for life on Paradise Island," explained one expat living in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
