"Expats should be aware that the official language in Johor Bahru is Malay, although English is widely spoken. It is important to familiarize yourself with the local customs and culture before moving to Johor Bahru. Expats should also be aware that the cost of living in Johor Bahru is generally lower than in other parts of Malaysia. Additionally, the city is well-connected to Singapore by road and rail, making it easy to travel between the two countries. Finally, expats should be aware that the climate in Johor Bahru is tropical, with high temperatures and humidity throughout the year," said one expat in Johor Bahru.
