Summary: Expats and retirees talk about real estate in Cabo Polonio, Uruguay? How do you find a home in Cabo Polonio? Should you buy or rent? What is the cost of housing?
How do I find a place to live in Cabo Polonio?
We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:
"Finding a place to live in Cabo Polonio, involves several steps. First, you need to decide what type of accommodation you're looking for. Cabo Polonio offers a range of options, from rustic cabins to more modern apartments and houses. Next, you should research online real estate platforms that list properties in Uruguay. Websites like Mercado Libre, Infocasas, and Gallito have sections dedicated to properties for rent or sale in Cabo Polonio. You can filter your search based on your preferences such as the number of bedrooms, proximity to the beach, and price range. Another option is to contact local real estate agents who specialize in Cabo Polonio properties. They can provide you with a list of available properties and arrange viewings. It's important to note that many properties in Cabo Polonio are off-grid, meaning they may not have traditional utilities like electricity and running water. If you're planning to rent, it's also a good idea to visit the area and see the properties in person before making a decision. This will give you a better sense of the community, the condition of the property, and its proximity to amenities. Lastly, once you've found a property you're interested in, you'll need to negotiate the terms of the lease or purchase with the owner or real estate agent. This will include things like the price, the length of the lease, and any conditions or rules. Remember, it's always a good idea to seek legal advice before signing any contracts to ensure you understand all the terms and conditions," explained one expat living in Cabo Polonio, Uruguay.
