Summary: The most desirable neighborhoods in Qingdao, China are Shinan District, Laoshan District, and Chengyang District. The average cost to buy a nice 2 bedroom home in Qingdao is around $200,000 USD, while a nice 3 bedroom home can cost around $300,000 USD. These properties typically include modern amenities such as air conditioning, central heating, and high-speed internet. There are no restrictions on foreign ownership for properties in Qingdao. An expat looking to buy a home in Qingdao should start by researching the different neighborhoods and their amenities. They should also look into the local real estate market and compare prices. Additionally, they should consider hiring a real estate agent to help them find the best property for their needs.

How do I find a place to live in Qingdao?

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"One way to find a place to live in Qingdao is to contact a realtor or property management company that specializes in the local Qingdao market. Many real estate companies and websites have detailed listings of available apartments and homes for rent or sale. Additionally, local landlords and housing agencies can provide potential tenants with helpful information about available rentals, as well as advice about areas of the city and nearby neighborhoods. Lastly, China’s Craigslist-like website 58.com is a great resource for potential renters, as the website features listings from a variety of landlords and real estate companies in the Qingdao area," remarked one foreigner who made the move to Qingdao, China.
