"Very active expat community, with many groups and get-togethers. Lot's of places for exercise, swimming, hiking, cycling. Not a great nightlife town, but at 68, that's ok with me," said another expat in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
"Chiang Mai is a popular destination for retirees due to its low cost of living, warm climate, and abundance of cultural attractions. There is an active expat community in Chiang Mai, with many retirees taking advantage of the city's vibrant nightlife, diverse restaurants, and numerous recreational activities. There are plenty of cultural attractions to explore, such as the ancient temples, traditional markets, and the nearby hill tribes. There are also plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, such as trekking, rafting, and mountain biking. For those looking for a more relaxed lifestyle, there are plenty of spas, yoga classes, and meditation centers. There is also a wide variety of nightlife options, from traditional Thai bars to modern nightclubs," wrote a member who made the move to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
