Is there a lot of crime in Patzcuaro?

"Patzcuaro is generally considered to be a safe place to live, with low levels of crime compared to other Mexican cities. However, recent upticks in public disturbances have been noted, particularly with regard to local disputes, petty theft, and robbery. Authorities have been taking steps to reduce crime levels, and are working together with residents and businesses to keep the area safe," remarked another expat in Patzcuaro, Mexico.
