Is there a lot of diversity? Are people in Tijuana accepting of differences?
When we asked people about diversity in Tijuana and whether locals are accepting of differences, they said...
"Yes, Tijuana has a culturally diverse population. People from all around Mexico, Central and South America, and many other countries around the world call Tijuana home. As such, there is a high degree of intercultural visibility, acceptance, and respect for the many different ethnic, racial and national backgrounds that inhabit the city. Tijuana is generally a tolerant and open-minded community, so those from different backgrounds should not feel unwelcome or out of place," said a member in Tijuana, Mexico.

"Tijuana is extremely diverse culturally. There are a high percentage of Catholics and many Evangelical Christians as well, in addition to an Eastern Orthodox church. Economically, the gap between the wealthy and the poor is more pronounced (vs. US) altough there is a strong middle-class, Mexico in general is much more class conscious than the US," remarked another expat who made the move to Tijuana, Mexico.
