As a foreigner living in Al Ain, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Al Ain if they have access to public healthcare in Al Ain. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Al Ain, you will have access to public healthcare, but you will need to apply for a health card from the Ministry of Health and Prevention. Public healthcare in the UAE is known for its high standards and modern facilities. However, it is important to note that public hospitals and clinics may prioritize Emirati citizens, and waiting times can be longer for expatriates. Many expats choose to opt for private healthcare, which offers a wider range of services and shorter waiting times. It is recommended to have comprehensive health insurance to cover the costs of private healthcare," explained one expat living in Al Ain, the UAE.
