When we asked expats and global nomads in Brazil about their experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system, they replied...

"I got pneumonia and thought it was COVID. Went to the hospital and they got me in, ran tests including a tomography of my lungs and sent me home with the proper medication for pneumonia. Great experience," explained one expat living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

"The pandemic has had a significant impact on the healthcare system in Brazil. Many hospitals have been overwhelmed with the influx of patients, leading to long wait times and limited access to medical care. Additionally, the lack of resources has caused a shortage of medical supplies, such as masks and gloves, which has further hindered the ability of healthcare workers to provide adequate care. Furthermore, the government has been slow to respond to the crisis, leaving many people without access to the necessary treatments and medications. Despite these challenges, the healthcare system in Brazil has been resilient and has managed to provide care to those in need," said another in Brazil.
