Are foreigners allowed to own property in Trinidad & Tobago?

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Trinidad & Tobago. The country has a liberal foreign investment policy, which allows non-nationals to purchase and own real estate in the country. Foreigners are also allowed to lease land and buildings for commercial and residential purposes. However, they must obtain permission from the Ministry of Finance and the Attorney General's Office before they can purchase property. Additionally, foreigners are subject to the same taxes and fees as nationals when purchasing property," remarked another expat in Trinidad & Tobago.
