Are foreigners allowed to own property in Ghana?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in Ghana if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...

"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Ghana. The Ghanaian government has put in place a number of regulations to ensure that foreign ownership of property is secure and transparent. Foreigners are allowed to purchase land and buildings in Ghana, but they must obtain permission from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources before doing so. Additionally, foreigners must register their property with the Lands Commission and pay the applicable taxes and fees. The Ghanaian government also requires that foreigners obtain a residence permit before they can purchase property in the country," remarked another expat in Ghana.
