From iconic landmarks to hidden gems, Taipei has something for everyone. Here are nine free things to do in Taipei that will enrich your stay, whether you're there for a few months or longer.

Elephant Mountain Hiking Trail

One of the most popular activities for both locals and visitors is hiking up the Elephant Mountain Hiking Trail. This short but steep trail leads to a viewpoint offering stunning panoramic views of Taipei, including the famous Taipei 101. The hike is especially rewarding at sunset when the city lights begin to twinkle against the dusky sky. Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall

The Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall is a prominent historical landmark in Taipei. The grandiose white building with a blue roof is set in a spacious park and is dedicated to the former President of the Republic of China.
