Georgia, a country at the intersection of Europe and Asia, has become an attractive destination for digital nomads. With its rich history, diverse culture, and affordable cost of living, it's no surprise that many remote workers are considering Georgia as their next base. The Georgian government has introduced a specific visa for digital nomads, known as the "Remotely from Georgia" program, which allows foreigners to work remotely from Georgia for up to one year.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the "Remotely from Georgia" program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Prove that they can work remotely.
  • Have a minimum monthly income of USD 2,000.
  • Agree to a 12-day mandatory quarantine at their own expense.
  • Have health insurance valid for the duration of their stay.

Application Process

The application process for the "Remotely from Georgia" program is straightforward. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Pre-register: Fill out the pre-registration form on the official website.
  2. Gather documents: Prepare the required documents, including proof of income, health insurance, and a passport valid for at least one year.
  3. Apply: Submit your application and the required documents through the official website.
  4. Wait for approval: The processing time for applications is typically within 10 business days.
  5. Enter Georgia: Once approved, you can enter Georgia and begin your remote work journey.

Required Documents

The following documents are required for the "Remotely from Georgia" program application:

  • A passport valid for at least one year.
  • Proof of income (bank statements, employment contract, etc.).
  • Health insurance valid for the duration of your stay in Georgia.
  • A certificate of good conduct (criminal record check).
