Kep is a small coastal province in southern Cambodia, known for its serene beauty and laid-back atmosphere. It was once a thriving resort town for the French colonial elite and later the Cambodian upper class, which is evident from the remnants of old villas scattered throughout the area. Today, Kep is renowned for its natural attractions, including its tranquil beaches and the lush Kep National Park, which offers hiking trails with panoramic views. The region is famous for its fresh seafood, particularly crab, and the bustling Kep Crab Market is a must-visit for food enthusiasts. Despite its small size, Kep has a variety of accommodations ranging from budget guesthouses to upscale resorts, catering to different types of travelers. The town exudes a rustic charm, with its quiet roads perfect for leisurely bike rides and its coastline offering stunning sunsets. Kep is also a gateway to the nearby unspoiled islands, such as Koh Tonsay, also known as Rabbit Island, which is a short boat ride away. The pace of life here is slow, making it an ideal destination for those looking to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of Cambodia's coastline.
