Real Estate in Zimbabwe
Last updated on Feb 02, 2024
Summary: An expat looking to buy a home in Zimbabwe should start by researching the local real estate market. They should look for reputable real estate agents and brokers who can provide them with information about available properties. It is also important to research the local laws and regulations regarding foreign ownership of property in Zimbabwe. Foreigners are allowed to own property in Zimbabwe, but there are certain restrictions. For example, foreigners are not allowed to own land in Zimbabwe, but they can own buildings and other structures. Additionally, foreigners must obtain permission from the government before they can purchase a property. Houses in Zimbabwe typically include basic amenities such as running water, electricity, and sanitation. Many homes also have access to internet and cable television. Depending on the location and price range, some homes may also include additional amenities such as swimming pools, gardens, and security systems.
How do I find a place to live in Zimbabwe?
We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:
"One of the best ways to find a place to live in Zimbabwe is to search online for rental listings. Websites such as Property24, Private Property, and Property.co.zw are great resources for finding rental properties in Zimbabwe. Additionally, you can also search for rental listings on classifieds websites such as Craigslist and Gumtree. Additionally, you can also contact local real estate agents who can help you find a suitable place to live. Finally, you can also ask around in your local community for recommendations on rental properties," remarked one foreigner who made the move to Zimbabwe.
