With a population of approximately 50,000, Salinas, Ecuador is the westernmost city on mainland Ecuador (Galapagos is further west). Salinas is considered Ecuador's most upscale, beach resort area and a hot spot for real estate investors. Salinas enjoys year-round, beach-friendly weather with highs in the mid 80s and lows in the upper 60s. Tip: Newcomers tend to meet people by hanging out at restaurants and bars on the Malecon, a popular beachfront street.
