Expats should also research the cost of living in Monterrey, and be aware that it can be higher than in other Mexican cities and towns. Additionally, researching the healthcare system and having insurance to cover any expenses is important for expats. Knowing Spanish is not essential for life in Monterrey, but speaking some Spanish can be beneficial for completing everyday tasks. Lastly, investing in a reputable real estate agent is recommended when looking for accommodations in Monterrey," wrote a member in Monterrey.
