What do expats find most challenging?

Answer this Question

We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Carriacou Island. They wrote...

"Expats in Carriacou Island may find the slow pace of life challenging, as the local culture values relaxation and leisure over the hustle and bustle of city life. They may also struggle with the local dialect, which is a mix of English, French, and African languages, making communication difficult. The lack of modern conveniences and amenities, such as high-speed internet and a variety of shopping options, can also be a challenge. Additionally, the local cuisine, which is heavily based on seafood and spices, may not suit everyone's palate. Lastly, the island's isolation and the locals' close-knit community can make it difficult for expats to integrate and feel at home," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Carriacou Island, Grenada.
