What are healthcare services like in Reykjavik?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Reykjavik. They wrote...

"In Reykjavik, healthcare services are modern and highly rated. Healthcare is provided by both public and private providers. The public healthcare system is free for all Icelandic citizens, funded by taxes and national health insurance. Private healthcare is also available, and covers a wide range of services from GP consultations to specialist treatments. All hospitals and treatment centres are well equipped, with access to the latest technologies, and foreign visitors can easily make use of the services. Medical staff are highly qualified and highly trained, offering quality services and delivering excellent care," remarked another expat in Reykjavik, Iceland.
