Is there a lot of crime in Tamarindo?

Answer this Question

We asked people if there is a lot of crime. They answered...

"Tamarindo has generally low levels of crime compared to other resort towns in Costa Rica. The local police take security very seriously and take preventative measures such as increased patrol and surveillance of the beaches and other tourist areas. Petty crime is known to occur, such as break-ins, pickpocketing and purse-snatchings, however, violent crime is rare, and tourists can feel safe when visiting Tamarindo," remarked another expat who made the move to Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
