For more specialized treatments, however, many people from Puerto Penasco travel to the city of Hermosillo, which is the capital of the state of Sonora, an hour and a half drive south of Puerto Penasco. Hermosillo offers a variety of specialist services such as advanced radiology, neurology, oncology, and cardiology. Additionally, the city of Mexicali is about 4 hours south of Puerto Penasco and is home to a large number of medical specialists who provide specialized medical care," explained one expat living in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.
