Is there a lot of diversity? Are people in Switzerland accepting of differences?
When we asked people about diversity in Switzerland and whether locals are accepting of differences, they said...
"Switzerland is one of the most ethnically diverse countries in Europe, with around 24% of the population having a foreign background. Switzerland is known for being accepting of differences in religion, ethnicity, language, and culture, as long as those differences are celebrated and respected without prejudice. The Swiss population is accepting of immigration and embraces different cultural norms and languages, making it one of the most open and tolerant countries in the region," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Switzerland.
"Yes this is a very diverse community. Especially because it's so close to the border with Germany and France. There's also a large Expat community here. They are somewhat accepting of the diversity but only if you don't disturb them," commented one expat who made the move to Basel, Switzerland.
