What do I need to know before moving to Rwanda?

Answer this Question

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Rwanda, they said...

"Rwanda is a beautiful and diverse country with a rich culture and history. Expats should be aware that the official language is Kinyarwanda, although English and French are widely spoken. It is important to research the cost of living in Rwanda before moving, as prices can vary significantly depending on the area. Expats should also be aware that the climate in Rwanda is tropical, with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons. Additionally, it is important to research the visa requirements for Rwanda before moving, as different types of visas are available depending on the purpose of the stay. Finally, expats should be aware that the healthcare system in Rwanda is improving, but it is still advisable to take out private health insurance," remarked another expat who made the move to Rwanda.
