We asked expats in Uruguay what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"Before retiring in Uruguay, expats should familiarize themselves with the local language, Spanish, as it is the official language of the country. Additionally, expats should research the cost of living in Uruguay, as it is generally higher than in other Latin American countries. It is also important to understand the Uruguayan healthcare system, as expats may need to purchase private health insurance. Furthermore, expats should research the visa requirements for Uruguay, as they may need to apply for a residency visa in order to stay in the country for an extended period of time. Finally, expats should consider the cultural differences between their home country and Uruguay, as this will help them to adjust to their new life in the country," explained one expat living in Uruguay.
