Where should I setup a bank account in Dominican Rep?
We asked expats in Dominican Rep what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...
"Before retiring in the Dominican Republic, expats should research the cost of living in the area they plan to live in, as well as the availability of healthcare and other services. It is also important to familiarize oneself with the local culture and customs, as well as the language. Additionally, expats should ensure that they have the necessary visas and permits to live and work in the Dominican Republic. Finally, expats should consider the climate and geography of the area they plan to live in, as this can have a significant impact on their quality of life," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Dominican Rep.
"I am a retired expat. No I did not close my UK bank account but I open a new ones here: an US$ account and a DRpeso account. Not a lot of meaningful banking differences but a little more expensive," commented one expat who made the move to Las Terrenas, Dominican Rep.
