Additionally, if you are not covered by the French healthcare system it may be useful to obtain private insurance to supplement it. Make sure you also research your neighbourhood of choice and its amenities to ensure you are comfortable with the area you will be living in. Obtaining a residence permit will also be necessary to stay in the country, and you may need to take a French language test.
