Where should I setup a bank account in Paris?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Paris what banks they use and there advice about banking. They advised...

"Before retiring in Paris, it is important to make sure that you have sufficient finances to cover your living costs such as accommodation, healthcare, and food. Additionally, if you are not covered by the French healthcare system it may be useful to obtain private insurance to supplement it. Make sure you also research your neighbourhood of choice and its amenities to ensure you are comfortable with the area you will be living in. Obtaining a residence permit will also be necessary to stay in the country, and you may need to take a French language test. Finally, familiarise yourself with the local tax system to make sure you’re aware of the taxes you may need to pay," said a member in Paris, France, France.
