Are foreigners allowed to own property in Rwanda?
When we asked expats in Rwanda if foreigners are allowed to own property, they answered...
"Yes, foreigners are allowed to own property in Rwanda. The Rwandan government has implemented a number of reforms to make it easier for foreign investors to purchase and own property in the country. Foreigners are allowed to purchase land and buildings, and they can also lease property for up to 99 years. However, they are not allowed to own land in rural areas, and they must obtain permission from the government before they can purchase property," wrote a member who made the move to Rwanda.
