"The cost of living in Split is considered moderate compared to other European cities. Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can be quite affordable, while outside the city center, it can be even cheaper. The cost of utilities such as electricity, heating, cooling, water, and garbage is also relatively low. Groceries in Split are reasonably priced, with local markets offering fresh produce at lower costs. Eating out at an inexpensive restaurant is also quite affordable, while a three-course meal for two people at a mid-range restaurant can be a bit more expensive. Public transportation in Split is also quite affordable, with monthly passes available for regular commuters. However, owning and maintaining a car can be more expensive due to the cost of gasoline and car maintenance. Healthcare in Split is of good quality and is relatively affordable, especially for residents who are covered by the Croatian health insurance. Overall, while salaries in Split may be lower than in some other European cities, the cost of living is also lower, making it a comfortable place to live for many people," wrote a member who made the move to Split, Croatia.
