What do I need to know before moving to Pedasi?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Pedasi, they said:

"Pedasi is a small town located on the Azuero Peninsula, known for its friendly locals, beautiful beaches, and relaxed lifestyle. Before moving to Pedasi, expats should know that Spanish is the primary language spoken, although English is also widely understood due to the growing expat community. The cost of living in Pedasi is relatively low compared to many Western countries, but it's still higher than in other parts of Panama. Expats should be aware that while some goods and services are cheaper, imported goods can be more expensive. The healthcare system in Pedasi is adequate for minor health issues, but for serious conditions, you may need to travel to larger cities. It's recommended to have a comprehensive health insurance plan that covers medical evacuation. Pedasi has a tropical climate with a wet and dry season. The dry season, from December to April, is the most popular time for tourists and expats. The town is known for its safety and low crime rate, but like anywhere, it's important to take standard precautions to protect your personal belongings. Public transportation in Pedasi is limited, so having a car can be beneficial. However, the town is small enough to walk or bike around. Pedasi has a slower pace of life, which can be a big adjustment for those used to living in a fast-paced city. It's important to be patient and adapt to the 'tranquilo' lifestyle. The local cuisine is a mix of traditional Panamanian food with a strong emphasis on seafood. There are also a growing number of international restaurants due to the increasing expat population. Finally, it's important to respect the local culture and traditions. Panamanians are generally warm and welcoming, but it's essential to remember that you are a guest in their country," said one expat in Pedasi.
